As of Tuesday 31st March, after the following announcements there follows a summary of who’s doing what in York right now, currently there are quite a lot of doorstep delivery and takeaway options but many are reconsidering their strategy. Remember, contactless payment is now the norm and it’s essential that you follow the social distancing measures that have been put in place. Only leave home to pick up essentials and do that as infrequently as possible.
Retail propositions that can remain open during the current lockdown conditions
Supermarkets and other food shops, market stalls that offer essential grocery and food, restaurants/bakeries for the collection or delivery of pre-paid orders only, health shops, pharmacies including non-dispensing pharmacies, petrol stations, bicycle shops, home and hardware shops, laundrettes and dry cleaners, garages, car rentals, pet shops, corner shops, newsagents, post offices and banks.
Yorkshire Food Guide: How you can help to support Yorkshire’s hospitality business
Restaurants and local suppliers are showing true Yorkshire grit in the face of COVID-19 by implementing takeaway and delivery services to aid anyone observing social distancing or in isolation. I’ve teamed up with Yorkshire Food Guide to help spread this news. They’ve created a live article on their website detailing what we can do support Yorkshire’s dining scene right now so that we can ensure that when everything finally returns to normal they’ve made it through. Find out where you can enjoy your favourite restaurant’s food at home, get groceries delivered from local suppliers and bag yourself a bargain on dining vouchers now for you to enjoy later. Head over to their Instagram page page to find out what’s happening in your local area and please share their messages.
